virus unable to open anything

problems:
seems like virus put a wallpaper over my screen: not able to see any icons
ctrl + alt + delete does not work: blocked
upon reboot quickly tapping to get task manager to run before virus takes over is a no go.
can't click start, run.
won't boot to safe mode
all shortcut keys don't work. For example windows-e, windows-l, none of these work.

an't download anything or run any .exe files because I can't get to them.
please help I have been going through multiple forums trying to find a fix and nothing so far has worked. I am on another computer to try to find solutions. I cannot currently get online on the computer having problems.

I have also tried to quickly press CAD before virus takes effect but it does not work. Have tried multiple times.

Also tried to quickly press alt + f4. no go there too.

after more than a few hours I have been able to unlock task manager. I ran explorer.exe and am able to see my desktop. Still no luck running spyware applications. I am still unable to rename or copy + paste anything. I downloaded malwarebytes on another computer and used a thum drive to put onto computer. I renamed them so it would run. Program will run for approx 5 sec and then get shut down.

Please download the current version of HijackThis from HERE

• Double click and run the installer.
  
• It will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\hijackthis.exe
  
• After installing, you should get the user agreement, press accept and Hijack This will run.
  
• Select Do a system scan and save a log file. This will open a notepad file of everything Hijack This found, copy and paste it back here.
