System Security

Hi, I got infected with System Security today and it is a real pain to remove

It will not allow me to start task manager(or any program except for explorer) and when I try to reboot my computer in safe mode it will just restart my computer everytime. My computer will only start normally. Please get back to me asap, I appreciate the help.

See if you can download HijackThis:

Please download the current version of HijackThis from HERE

• Double click and run the installer.
  
• It will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\hijackthis.exe
  
• After installing, you should get the user agreement, press accept and Hijack This will run.
  
• Select Do a system scan and save a log file. This will open a notepad file of everything Hijack This found, copy and paste it back here.
  

Hijack this can be downloaded but it will not open/install/run

Please rename HijackThis to something like hijpacktihs.exe and see if it runs.

I have tried renaming it to several different .exe files but it is unable to install

It has to be renamed to a system filename.

This time, rename it to winlogon.exe and see what happens.

It allows me to click install now but will close the program when the user terms come up
