Wn PC Problems

Dear all,

I seem to have somehow gained the very irritating WnPc "anti" Virus program. I've read up on this both on here and other sites and i've downloaded the mbam-setup program to try to fix this.

Sometimes mbam won't even install, sometimes it will install but never actually run and most often it wont even uninstall. I also tried a system resore but that wont run either.

Any help anyone can give me is greatly apreciated! Here is my Hijack log;

1. If you are using Firefox, make sure that your download settings are as follows:

* Tools->Options->Main tab
* Set to "Always ask me where to Save the files".

2. During the download, rename Combofix to Combo-Fix as follows:





3. It is important you rename Combofix during the download, but not after.
4. Please do not rename Combofix to other names, but only to the one indicated.
5. Close any open browsers.
6. We need to disable your local AV (Anti-virus) before running Combofix.

• Double click on ComboFix.exe.
  
• Follow the prompts. NOTE:
  
• ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed.
  ***It's strongly recommended to have the Recovery Console installed before doing any malware removal.***
  
• Allow combofix to run
  
• Post C:\combofix.txt back here.
  
  Note:
  Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.
  

Ok its going well so far but i got to the point where im about to run Combo-Fix and i need to turn off my AVG anti virus but the link you posted telling me how to do this doesn't work. Is there another link or can you copy and paste the instructions please?

Also it mentions having Microsoft Windown Recovery Console installed. How do i know if i have this and if not where can i get it?

As a slight addition, since running the Hijack This and fixing the items mentioned my internet will no longer work.

Any time I open internet explorer it tries to open the following webpage:

http://AVG.urlseek.vmn.net/search

However this does not connect, nor will any other website (im on here from work).

Obviously if i can't access the internet i cant complete the above instructions as i cant copy and paste the new scan info onto this forum. Does anyone know why the internet wont work and how to fix it?

Origin is away, so I am stepping in.

• Open HijackThis.
  
• When Hijack This opens, click "View the list of backups."
  
• Then check (tick) the box next to the O17 item: O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{5D938663-E734-4B71-B2C1-ED38663CBCFB}: NameServer = 192.168.0.1
  
• Press "Restore" and OK the prompt.
  

Now reboot normally. Let me know if your net connection is back.
