Comp is running slow

HI

Computer is running really slow and the cpu usage shows about 12%

After gradually ging down from 99%

Does this mean i have some sort of a virus

Slowness doesn't always mean a virus, there are other things to consider.

Processor speed
RAM
Startup items

More than likely it's startup items that need to be turned off.

Is there a way that i cant actually block them

Because i always try to block itunes but it doesnt work

Also daemon tools which i uninstalled and it keep cropping up

Please download the current version of HijackThis from HERE

• Double click and run the installer.
  
• It will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\hijackthis.exe
  
• After installing, you should get the user agreement, press accept and Hijack This will run.
  
• Select Do a system scan and save a log file. This will open a notepad file of everything Hijack This found, copy and paste it back here.

Don't download the Windows Genuine Advantage updates, they are a pain in the neck.

As for AV, you have AVG, stick with that.

Did you uninstall AVG? Running two AV's isn't good. Having two soldiers might be a good thing, but these soldiers like to tear each other to pieces.

If you want Avast, uninstall AVG.

So now i only have AVAST
