Win32/Cryptor (Google Search Redirects Elsewhere)

AVG Free is telling me I have the Win32/Cryptor Virus and it says it has removed some of the infections but not all. And I am experiencing the Google redirecting issues where when I click on a search result I get redirected to some other random website. I was wondering how can I fix this? Thanks in advance.

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  
• Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)

After I performed the steps, the computer booted to the login page and as I was about to enter the password the computer restarted randomly. And also the reason I thing the Avenger is failing because all the files that are supposed to be in the "Windows" folder are in a folder called "WINNT"

Yeah, my bad.
The avenger speech is pre-made and saved in a text document for my users who I help. XP is normally Windows and 2000 is WINNT, and I knew this was XP, but forgot the folder name wasn't Windows.

The restart is from the avenger, it restarts twice when deleting a driver, It's done that now, so run MBAM and it will clear up what's left.

I see that you are running Limewire.
P2P(Peer to peer) applications are designed to help you easily share and distribute files between you and a group of people. But they can also be used to distribute malware, and thus are not considered safe.
The removal of these programs is optional, but highly recommended.

Save this as CFScript.txt, save it to your desktop also.
Then drag and drop CFScript.txt into combofix as seen below:


This will open combofix.exe again, agree to it's terms and allow it to run, it may want to reboot after it's done. Post the resulting log back here.

I was able to remove everything but the ViewPoint Toolbar. It gives me two options when I click to remove it and tried both of them nothing happens.

And Also for the CFScript I am not seeing the complete line, all I see is --

Okay, leave the toolbar. Combofix will delete the Viewpoint folders, and we have another tool we can use that targets known Viewpoint stuff.

I can see the script, you can try looking at the script in Firefox or Google Chrome if you have them installed.

Hello.

I recommend you remove the Java Quick Starter because it's not needed.
To do so, follow these instructions.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Java.
In the Java control panel, open the click the Advanced tab. Click the + in front of Miscellaneous and uncheck the Java Quick Starter box.

Below I have included a number of recommendations for how to protect your computer in order to prevent future malware infections. Please take these recommendations seriously; these few simple steps can stave off the vast majority of spyware problems. As happy as we are to help you, for your sake we would rather not have repeat customers.

1) Please navigate to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and download all the "critical updates" for Windows. This can patch many of the security holes through which attackers can gain access to your computer.

Please either enable Automatic Updates under Start -> Control Panel -> Automatic Updates , or get into the habit of checking for Windows updates regularly. I cannot stress enough how important this is.

2) In order to protect yourself against spyware, you should consider installing and running the following free programs:

Ad-Aware SE

Spybot-Search & Destroy
A tutorial on using Spybot to remove spyware from your computer may be found here. Please also remember to enable Spybot's "Immunize" and "TeaTimer" features.

SpywareBlaster

SpywareGuard
A tutorial on using SpywareGuard for realtime protection against spyware and hijackers may be found here.

Make sure to keep these programs up-to-date and to run them regularly, as this can prevent a great deal of spyware hassle.

3) Please consider using an alternate browser. Mozilla's Firefox browser is fantastic; it is much more secure than Internet Explorer, immune to almost all known browser hijackers, and also has the best built-in popup blocker (as an added benefit!) that I have ever seen. If you are interested, Firefox may be downloaded from here:
