Spyware 2009

Windows for spyware 2009 have started appearing on my computer. My computer is being really slow and my internet is being weird. I can go to some websites and some I can't. Spyware 2009 pops up occasionally and tries to scan my computer. I just ctrl+alt+delete whenever it comes up. Also, I can't double click on my C: drive. It gives me an error window that is titled "S-5-2-33-100006859-100000130-100029824-2898.com"

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  
• Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)

Okay, I did everything you asked me to. When I restarted my computer I cannot get on the internet. I'm using a different computer to get on the internet. When I open my browser it says "Proxy Server Refused Connection".

Before, whenever I restarted my computer, rundll32 or something like that would ask if it could run as an app and connect to the internet. This warning thing would pop up on ZoneAlarm. If I denied it access, I couldn't get on the internet. If I restarted and allowed it access then I could get on the internet. Now I can't get on the internet at all.

Edit: I couldn't update mbam because I couldn't get on the internet.

Uninstall Zonealarm while we do this, see if that fixes it.

The proxy thing could be a Firefox hijacker known as Yoog, I heard that it sometimes uses proxy to hijack the browser.

Omg, what a mess.

I'm actually suprised this infection managed to get in with SAS on the system.
I was expecting Yoog and found something called Goored.

We need to run several different tools to fix this mess.

First, lets fix that startup item that is causing that rundll32.exe error.

• Now open a new notepad file.

Hello.
How are things for you now? the log looks good.

Umm, I still cannot get onto the internet with either Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer. It still tells me that the "Proxy Server Refused Connect, Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections." My internet explorer just says that it cannot find server.

Everything else is seems to be working fine. Just the internet problem.

Try this:

Remove the Proxy setting in Internet explorer and/or in FireFox.

In IE: Tools Menu -> Internet Options -> Connections Tab ->Lan Settings > uncheck "use a proxy server" or reconfigure the Proxy server again in case you have set it previously.

In Firefox in Tools Menu -> Options... -> Advanced Tab -> Network Tab -> "Settings" under Connection.
Set it to "No Proxy" or configure it if you had it set to a proxy before

Click the apply button and restart that computer in normal mode.

Just need to remove the tools used.

Click Start >> Run and then copy/paste the following into the box and hit Enter:
"%userprofile%\Desktop\GooredFix.exe" /uninstall
If any of your security programs query a new Registry/AutoStart value being added please allow the changes.

Click Start > Run and copy/paste the following bolded text into the Run box and click OK:

ComboFix /u



This will also reset your restore points.

Reboot normally.

Below I have included a number of recommendations for how to protect your computer in order to prevent future malware infections. Please take these recommendations seriously; these few simple steps can stave off the vast majority of spyware problems. As happy as we are to help you, for your sake we would rather not have repeat customers.

1) Please navigate to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and download all the "critical updates" for Windows. This can patch many of the security holes through which attackers can gain access to your computer.

Please either enable Automatic Updates under Start -> Control Panel -> Automatic Updates , or get into the habit of checking for Windows updates regularly. I cannot stress enough how important this is.

2) In order to protect yourself against spyware, you should consider installing and running the following free programs:

Ad-Aware SE

A tutorial on using SpywareGuard for realtime protection against spyware and hijackers may be found here.

Make sure to keep these programs up-to-date and to run them regularly, as this can prevent a great deal of spyware hassle.

3) Please consider using an alternate browser. Mozilla's Firefox browser is fantastic; it is much more secure than Internet Explorer, immune to almost all known browser hijackers, and also has the best built-in popup blocker (as an added benefit!) that I have ever seen.
