Hiya, last night while I was surfing online my computer restarted itself. When I rebooted I got a warning from my firewall telling me that I had this particular Trojan. I put my computer in safe mode and ran several different anti virus programs however none of them could find the problem. One did called spywareterminator and it said it deleted it however it actually did not. I cant access the internet on my main computer and therefore am using a laptop. On another note I'm very bad with computers and struggle with anything to complicated. Also I have malewarebytes on my computer but it wont run, not sure if this has something to do with the virus or not.

Here is my log

Hello.
We have to uninstall a few things, but lets remove this malware first.

  • Open HijackThis
  • Choose "Do a system scan only"
  • Check the boxes in front of these lines:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [wclock] "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Google\yfijv17721328.exe" 2

  • Press "Fix Checked"
  • Close Hijack This.

Please download the OTMoveIt3 by OldTimer.

  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Please double-click OTMoveIt3.exe to run it.
  • Copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy):

    :processes
    explorer.exe

    :files
    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Google\*.*

    :commands
    [purity]
    [emptytemp]
    [start explorer]
    [reboot]

  • Return to OTMoveIt3, right click in the "Paste instructions for items to be Moved" window (under the light blue bar) and choose Paste.
  • Click the red Moveit! button.
  • Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar) to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy), and paste it in your next reply.

Sorry i deleted the programs as requested however when i try to run dds it doesnt work. Ive downloaded it to the laptop put it on my memory stick and then sent it to the desktop on the other computer. When it runs it just shows the instructions and does not actually scan. A second window opens however its blank and shuts itself off after 30 seconds.

I see you are using Belkin wireless.
I too use Belkin on my laptop.

Sometimes I can connect straight away, other times it asks me for my router key.
Can you try doing a search and type your key in when you try a manual connect.

Ummm well I'm back already. Seems that not everything is hunkydory. There is definitely something wrong with IE. Most websites (such as this one) will not open and when they do they redirect me to other ones asking me to scan my computer.

I would like to speed up startup too but I need to fix this first.

Okay, lets go deeper.

  • Download combofix from here, use the top links - combofix.exe
  • Please disable your local AV (Anti-virus) by right clicking it's icon in the tray, and exit it.
  • Double click on ComboFix.exe.
  • Follow the prompts. NOTE:
  • ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed.
***It's strongly recommended to have the Recovery Console installed before doing any malware removal.***

**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will automatically proceed with its scan.

  • The Recovery Console provides a recovery/repair mode should a problem occur during a Combofix run.

    Win32.ZafiB Virus, please help Rcauto10

  • Allow ComboFix to download the Recovery Console.
  • Accept the End-User License Agreement.
  • The Recovery Console will be installed.
  • You will then get this next prompt that asks if you want to continue the malware scan, select yes

    Win32.ZafiB Virus, please help Whatne10

  • Allow combofix to run
  • Post C:\combofix.txt back here.

    Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.

When rebooting my system did a disk check, however it seemed to be loading faster.

Just one final query. A long time ago I used avast as an antivirus program. However the file corrupted and the remmaments have remained on my system ever since then. Is there a way of getting rid of these? When ever I try to delete them I cant through add and remove programs or selecting them and manually deleteing. Its not that important just want to get rid of them.

Your version of Java is outdated and needs to be updated to take advantage of fixes that have eliminated security vulnerabilities.
Updating Java:

  • Download the latest version of Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 11.
  • Select the first option where it says "Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 11".
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • In the Window that opens, select your platform and language, check the "agree" box, and click Continue.
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation and save to your desktop.
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
  • Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add or Remove Programs and remove all older versions of Java.
  • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
    - Examples of older versions in Add or Remove Programs:
    - Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2
    - J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0
    - J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 2
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
