Hi there,

Backdoor.Tidserv!inf infected my computer. I panicked and deleted some files in my temp folder, downloaded and ran CCleaner and Malwarebytes Anti-malware, and now the scans say my computers clean but I'm not so sure and I can't use IE.

Please help. Thanks!

Hello.
Yes, his machine may also be infected too, but first we need to confirm this.

  • Open HijackThis
  • Choose "Do a system scan only"
  • Check the boxes in front of these lines:

    O2 - BHO: C:\WINDOWS\system32\jhsrf832jbnefe.dll - {D5BF49A2-94F1-42BD-F434-3604812C807D} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\jhsrf832jbnefe.dll
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [C:\WINDOWS\system32\kdxdz.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\kdxdz.exe
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Jnskdfmf9eldfd] C:\DOCUME~1\NESS\LOCALS~1\Temp\csrssc.exe
    O7 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System, DisableRegedit=1
    O22 - SharedTaskScheduler: KJhaiufhw3nrih7wefywjfsdfd - {D5BF49A2-94F1-42BD-F434-3604812C807D} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\jhsrf832jbnefe.dll

If you do not know this domain, and it is not your ISP, tick these items too:

    O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: SearchList = dba.corp
    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: SearchList = dba.corp

  • Press "Fix Checked"
  • Close Hijack This.

Delete these two files in bold:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\jhsrf832jbnefe.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\kdxdz.exe
===

  • Download combofix from here, use the top links - combofix.exe

Thanks for the quick response.

I tried to delete C:\WINDOWS\system32\jhsrf832jbnefe.dll and it said access denied. I couldn't find the other file mentioned. Should I continue with the instructions?

Yes, combofix will delete it.
Take your time with this, I have to head off to bed now, so I'll review it in the morning.

Hello.
Yes, the memory stick is also infected.
The logs here look clean, but don't put the USB stick back in this one.
Is the other machine you posted this from having problems?

Well either way, if you want the use of the memory stick without getting infected, we need to infect a machine again.
