AVAR (Association of Anti Virus Asia Researchers) ------ formed in June, 1998.
The mission of the AVAR is to prevent the spread and damage caused by malicious software, and to develop cooperative relationship among anti malicious software experts.
AVAR is independent and not-for-profit organization which is oriented in Asia Pacific region. AVAR consists of prominent experts on computer virus from various areas such as Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Singapore,Taiwan, UK, and U.S.A. The independence helps AVAR to play an important role to fight against computer virus Globally/Worldwide and to raise users' awareness on computer security issues.
Mission.
AVAR 2008 International Conference in New Delhi, INDIA. This is the World's largest Asia- Pacific conference for anti malware technologies. It is the first time this conference will be held in India.
AVAR activities include:
* Organizing and hosting AVAR annual conference and seminar on anti virus issues
* Providing information on computer virus incidents through Asia on AVAR website
* Operating AVAR members' mailing list to exchange information and opinions among members.
AVAR has spent a lot of effort fighting malware programs over the past ten years. During these years, the objective of malware programs has changed from simple file crush programs to using malware programs as tools for stealing corporate secrets, private information and simply "money".
To prevent these crimes, AVAR 2008 will provide possibly the best opportunity to learn about the latest anti malware technology and to discuss major issues of worldwide information security technology and benefit from this conference in Dec--2008, New Delhi, India. The previuos AVAR 2007 conference took place in Seoul, Korea and earlier AVAR conferences were hosted in Hong Kong, Australia, China, Japan and New Zealand.
