Help Finding A File

I downloaded a program from the net but cannot find it on my system. Is there a special way to locate it?

The last time i say it, it was in a folder named TEMP but when i searched temp, it wasnt in there.

Which program you using for downloads ? or you download with Internet Browser ?

What was the name of the .exe file? I can make a batch script to search for it.

i used firefox to download it...

i think it was idm5.14

In firefox, if you go to Tools -> Downloads then right-click the file and Open Containing Folder it does not appear?

nope, not there...

Open a new notepad file.
Input this into the notepad file.

@echo Searching for files.
dir /s idm*.exe > log.txt
del look.bat
start notepad log.txt
exit

Save this as look.bat. Save it to your desktop.
Double click to run look.bat.
Post log.txt back here.

Volume in drive C has no label.
Volume Serial Number is 280F-508F

I know exactly what happened. You probably selected run or open instead of save as. When you do that, your browser deletes the file after your are finished viewing or running it.

You will need to redownload to fix the problem.

I agree with Jerry, that's probably why it went into the TEMP folder.
