Stuck in an iTunes update hell.

If anyone has any good ideas about how to remove residual components of previous iTunes versions, I'd love to hear it. When I tried to update, i get the error message about a missing DLL and a suggestion to reinstall. To reinstall, i have to remove an older version of the Apple Software Update. But it points to a location on a network that's no longer available.  
I think that if i could figure out how to completely remove iTunes, I could do a clean install. I know i shouldn't have, but i deleted several years of upgrade folders on the computer.

Have you use Revo Uninstaller to force uninstall of iTunes program?
