yahoo mail - email problems

HELP !! -- several issues --- I get 5 unread email notices but when I go to inbox, there aren't any unread emails.
second ---- When I read the emails they stay "bold" like I never read them and do not go away even if I try to delete them,

Yahoo! Mail is a standalone application based online, so our support on that is very limited.
