Is there free internet security that will protect me when shopping & banking?

I'm looking for free protection software that will protect my PC when surfing, social networking, banking & shopping? What do you recommend? Or, in order to get the best protection when I bank and shop on-line do I need to pay for the software? Thanks!

As for whether you should have premium protection...YES! It is the best idea to do. It is so worth it, especially with the amount of protection it serves. I recommend only a couple different ones those.

For the program I most recommend is Kaspersky Internet Security. It yields the highest results in antivirus testing groups, and is one of the most trusted. indeed is Kaspersky IS the best you can get, but there are also some free AV scanners that work pretty good, offcourse they are by far not as complete as Kaspersky IS, I myself use Norton 360, which works pretty good in my opinion, it will not be cheaper than kaspersky but on my system it seems to use less system sources, or at least it doesn't slow it down so much as kaspersky IS, I must admit I havn't used Kaspersky IS for the last 2 years, so it may be working a lot faster now than 3 years ago when I used it for several years.
