I had tons of malware on my pc. My google searches were also being redireted. By reading a post from a a person with a similar problem and following the directions to fix the prob I was able to fix my problem as well.
I will definitely do more reading on this site.....thank you so much )

Hello Iam new to this. and iam trying hard to fix myWindows XP for about 5 days now it has been saying it cant open the files or programs no mater what i have tryed thay wont open. I even went and got a new Antivirus and down loaded it to a deffarnd pc then sent it to a flash drive. then tryde to set up on the XP but gagin it wont open not even in a safe moed. Please can someone help me with this? My friend is tired of me needing her laptop to fix my decktop LOL. PS when this started i keep geting a windows AV Security Worning so i tryed to update it but it would not all it keep saying was i had to buy it. PLEASE HELP!!

that's because you are trying to install, right? install it, but copy the folder to the flash drive instead of the install exe. run the exe, and quarintine viruses, if available. then run again and delete them. works for me, and my friend's kids do the same thing at school for games (they constantly comlplain about windows defender. they don't know how to get exe's past viruses)

I have a bad guy in my pc, trying to send out 552 pieces of spam via ME! So< Norton got it, but won't get the real guy. I have to unplug internet cord cus my remote access was turned on! I did figure out its the bankerfoxA and nuqel thing. Im in safe mode now, first time in days on the web. yay. OK, well thanks, off to the right forum I go. I hope.

I stumbled upon this forum while researching FLV Tube Player and why it suddenly installed itself onto my computer! Hoping to find some answers here and SUPPORT in the intimidating (for some of us) world of computers.

hi I'm on and first impressions - it's not that geeky !

I am making contact on an old computer of our son in laws, the one my wife and i normally use I disconnected last night after getting a security warning after visiting a site seeking seeds my japanese born daughter in law suggested it would be handy to grow called edamame. The are edible green soy beans used as nibblys with a beer. Firefox indicated in the top corner AV8SCAN and the sytem flashed up with a flashing message indicating 11 threats in shared documents and 1 threat in my documents . A "worm" showed full green colour from one side to the other and had 100% in black in the middle. below it listed a heap of supposed threats and a button with Start protection on it and next to it recommend: click "start protection button" to erase all threat. It did not look or feel like what I had seen from Avast so I pulled the internet plug on it and ran avast and it was clean. I tried moving the side bar,on this security scree which I think had allowed me to previously look at all the supposed threats while it was on line but now no link to web it was frozen. I ran avast a second time then fired up this other old, both are very old , laptop and sent email to friend who recommended avast in first place and he suggested GeekPolice and provided the address and the advice this was a threat itself which sought of confirmed my gut feeling.

After reading my first post , realised infected computer is still running and when I opened screen up on monitor all this stuff is still there as I believed keeping it wasn't going to make any difference except improve my ability to describe exactly what is there.

Glad I found this forum, I was referred over here to learn and help others by learning what I find intrusting malware. I am blind that can sometimes be a problem on the forums as I need the name of the link, not just where it is at on the page. I submitted a application for GPA and I would like to know if I get a foreword or message by your system to my email when someone sends a reply to that? Also how long does it take for review. I was referred by a person named super Dave in Canada who is now a malware removal specialist with Computer Hope Fourms. Also can someone explain the MPV ranking and how it works around the forums?
