Morning all,

Ive a serious problem.

Last night i decided to download an old pc game online, when i ran the setup after it had downloaded, my system crashed, initiating startup repair. This runs for a couple of mins and then tells me the problem cant be fixed, restarts and repeats the process.

Ive tried a few different things already, il list them below:

Pressed f8 while booting to access the advanced booting options and ran the following:

Safe mode: (it just restarts the laptop, back into the loop)

Enable low-res video: (just in case the game messed up my video hardware)

Last know good config: (sends me back into the loop)

Disable auto restart on system failure: (send me back into the loop)

Next step for me was to access the advanced boot options (f8) and click 'Repair your Computer'
this leads me onto a screen with a few recovery tool.Again, ive tried all and to no avail.
Listed below:

System restore: (it tells me ive restored and then restarts the system, starting up the exact same way as before, system recovery check, then loop)

Startup repair: (pointless as this is the program im trying to avoid)

Windows mem diagnostic: All runs fine, no issues.

The next step for me was to access the command prompt from the recovery tools and run chkdsk.exe to see if that would help out, again nothing.

I then deleted the game folder that contained the game that messed me up in the first place through the command prompt, again nothing.

Im really starting to panic, ive been using my friends laptop while hes away (with his permission ofc) because mine is in for repairs.I really hope i dont have to do a clean install as i dont have the win 7 disc, and im not even too sure if he has the product serial number if i do a fresh install!!
All i know is he has alot of important stuff on the drive and if i dont sort this one out asap im in biiiiiiiig trouble.

Any help or advice would be great, il be online here all day hoping i get a few replies Let me think

Thank You! in advance everyone.
