NTLDR is missing

I formatted my system and when I restarted, it got passed the "push F1 for setup" screen then it just gives me a black screen that says NTLDR is missing. I cant get to the Windows start up screen. I've tried booting from CD with a Windows XP disc and I get the same message.

What can I do to be able to get my operating system back up again??

is ur boot order set to boot from Cd first? Make sure of that!

double check plz... make sure cd is the first boot option in ur bios

Yea the CD is first to boot and i'm using a XP disc

Its not recognizing the disc then if you're getting that error message. Is the connector of the optical drive secured? Open your case and take a quick peek inside to verify.

yes, i opened the case and everything is secured correctly. When it boots it seems to start to read the disc with a black screen but then gives me that message.

ur cd drive isnt working properly...

borrow one and try that one...

it could be that he is using an improperly burnt disc (if it isnt a legit one) because most people dont make those boot-able
is it burnt disc or an actual MS disc?
