MS REMOVAL TOOL INFECTION WINDOWS XP

hello! My computer is infected with a MS removal tool infection. when the screen came up it wouldnt show any icons or the windows panel... only the background would come up. i opened up task manager and saw MS REMOVAL with a guys face as the icon. i thought it was really weird that there was a guys face on the icon, so i ended that process and opened up cmd. exe and then everything started working. how do i ensure this doesnt happen again?

Download OTL by OldTimer to your Desktop.

• Close all windows and double click OTL.exe
  
• Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted
  
• It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.
  
• You may need to use two posts to get it all.
