Hi, I am new here and a while back our computer got the Antivira AV scam. As you know...it locks the computer up and says you are infected and that your computer in unprotected. My husband was able to keep it at bay by setting the history back...it worked for a bit..then today, I came home, checked my email...went on our local paper, closed out, a window saying Java script was running...then the Antivira Av popped up again. Here we go again!! I went and got my work computer and looked up how to rid your computer of it. It had steps...it said to go into safe mode, which we did...but then it said to go to computer/user/software(I believe) windows/ internetexplorer...but the internet explorer never showed up. it said that this had to be removed manually. McAfee did not find it...neither did spybot or Malware. What do we have to do to get rid of this? can we do it ourselves?

Hello.

Download OTL by OldTimer to your Desktop.

  • Close all windows and double click OTL.exe
  • Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted
  • It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.
  • You may need to use two posts to get it all.
