How do I remove default programs associated with certain file types? I have an .mdb file(MS Access), but do not have Access as it's being used with Visual Studio. I opened it with notepad just to see if it showed anything, but now it became set as the default and can't reset it.

For the first entry value 0 and 2 I was using for an online class. Same goes for value 0 on the second entry. I've tried removing the keys(exported before removing, and value 3 on the first key and the default value for the persistent handler), but no changes.

Go to Control Panel\Programs\Default Programs\Set Associations

Then, edit the list to your liking.

Please open Notepad and enter in the following:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mdb]
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.mdb]

Then, click File > Save as...
Save as fix.reg to your Desktop.
Choose Save as type... All Files.
Click Save.

Then, exit Notepad.

Double-click on fix.reg, and merge it. Reboot your computer and it shall be fixed.
