So, a few days ago, I was on an application that I downloaded, called PalTalk Scene. It is a chatroom application, similar to skype, except that ads appear in the chatrooms. 2 days ago, I used it, and a rouge ad made AV Antivirus soft install on my computer. It just popped out of nowhere. I followed your instructions, but it's not letting me go into safe mode with networking, so I put the installations and the programs onto a CD and tried to transfer it to the infected computer while it is in safe mode. But it's NOT LETTING ME INSTALL. WHAT DO I DO? I NEED TO GET THIS VIRUS OFF BECAUSE THAT WINDOWS COMPUTER HAS MY MOST IMPORTANT FILES ON IT. HELP!!!

Hi, Welcome to GeekPolice.net! Smile...

Please download and run RKill.

Download mirror 1 - Download mirror 2 - Download mirror 3

  • Save it to your Desktop.
  • Double click the RKill desktop icon.
  • It will quickly run and launch a log. If it does not launch a log, try another download link until it does.
  • Please post its log in your next reply.
  • After it has run successfully, delete RKill.

Note: This tool only kills the active infection, the actual infection will not be gone. Once you reboot the infection will be active again! Please do not reboot until instructed further to do so.

How would i do it though? I can't connect to the internet on that computer because it's not letting me in on Safe Mode with networking, only just regular safe mode. So, It's not working. I'm currently in regular safe mode as we speak, typing this from the clean MAC, and running my old version of norton anti-virus... It's not letting picking up anything infected as of now, what do I do?

Hi, Smile...

What do you mean by "The program needs to be updated"? OTL or Rkill shouldn't need to be updated or connected to the internet to use.
