I receive this error message "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item" anytime I try to download anything, rather it be a program or download a picture out of my email that I sent to myself from another computer. I've had this Vios laptop for only four months. I currently have Windows 7 home Premium and Internet Explorer 8. Thanks.

Download OTL by OldTimer to your Desktop.

  • Close all windows and double click OTL.exe
  • Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted
  • It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.
  • You may need to use two posts to get it all.
