Alpha Antivirus

Trying to remove Alpha antivirus off friend's PC. Can't get into regedit or taskmanager.Program blocks it. Can't find program in program files or common files. Not in add and remove. Started in safe mode and ran mbam. That didn't fix it. Any other suggestions before I format and reinstall windows. Thanks Joe
