Hello
The computer has administrator and three other standard users - one of the standard users had the above Security Alert spyware and she couln't access any programmes. After a scan with her antivirus and malwarebytes in normal mode, the spyware was removed and the files were deleted.

The problem now is that, again on the standard user who had the original problem, when she clicks any software or programme the box comes up asking to choose what programme to open it in - internet explorer and quicktime are the options within the box but you can browse.

I really would appreciate your help to sort this out.

Hello.

Download OTL by OldTimer to your Desktop.

  • Close all windows and double click OTL.exe
  • Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted
  • It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.
  • You may need to use two posts to get it all.
