win32/nugel.e

I need assistance getting rid of win32/nuqel.e or whatever it is. I don't use internet explorer, i use firefox. I have tried to download things to remove it but once it downloads i'm unable to open anything. I went over the read this first area and downloaded the javara and high jack this but i couldn't open those either. i keep getting the message the application cannot be executed. The file winlogon.scr is infected. Do you want to activate your antivirus software now. I believe i get a similar message for everything i try to open. Have no problems getting on the internet so far, lots of annoying pop ups though. Can someone please help me get rid of this?

Download OTL by OldTimer to your Desktop.

• Close all windows and double click OTL.exe
  
• Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted
  
• It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.
  
• You may need to use two posts to get it all.
  

First of all thank you for helping me! So I downloaded OTL and closed all windows but I am unable to open it up and run the scan. Says application cannot be executed. The file otl.exe is infected. Do you want to activate your antivirus software now? It opens for a second and I did hit run scan but nothing happened.

Please rename OTL.exe to explorer.exe and see if it will run now.
