I got malware problems...i think.. i'm not sure. About a month ago i had malware problems and i kept getting these messages that said "You may have a password stealing virus" or something like that. and i kept getting this little red sheild at the bottom of the screen in the little bar thing with a white "X" through it. Well now I have a MILLION of them...they just keep popping up one after another and I've ran my malware protection thing and ad-awair and hijack this...and it won't stop. It keeps popping up porno.com and viagra websites when its trying to scan, yet it won't let me connect to the internet when i try and open up my explorer. I dunno know what to do guys.. need some help...BAD....hope to hear from someone......

this box just popped up and said

INFILTRATION ALERT
Your computer is being attacked by an internet virus. It could be a password stealing attack, a trojan or similar.

DETAILS
Attack from: 213.34.2.51, port 43186
Attacked port: 63636
Threat: Bankerfox.A

then it gives me the option to Block it or not. Hope this helps.

Download OTL by OldTimer to your Desktop.

  • Close all windows and double click OTL.exe
  • Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted
  • It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.
  • You may need to use two posts to get it all.

My computer won't connect to the internet or open a web browser. I'm sending you this from my brother's computer. I don't have OTL but I do have "Highjack this" and "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware" and also"ad-aware and ad-watch 2007". Will any of these work? Or does is have to be OTL?

thank you

If you can get Hijack This running, that will work fine for this purpose.
Let me know if Hijack This works.

Yep, I need to see the log.
Can you transfer the log file over from USB to a working machine?

ok i'll have to get a flashdrive tonight when i go out.

Here is another question for ya though. I just checked my computer again and the little red shields with the "x"'s have stopped. its not even saying i have a virus anymore. i ran highjack this and malware bytes and they detected no threats....but a box did pop up randomly and said it found some infections and deleted them... so now the computer doesn't tell me I have viruses, BUT it won't let me connect to the internet. I've tried reconnecting...disabling my internet and then reconnecting... i've followed all the steps that the browser gives me to reconnect and nȯne of that works. So does that mean there is still an infection somewhere? or do i just not know how to connect to the internet? cause that is a definate possibility.. lol I'm still gonna get the flashdrive and send you the logfiles tonight, i just thought I'd ask about that cause I just thought it was weird. I've been getting the "x'" shields and pop ups saying my computer is infected for three days and then all of the sudden they just dissappeared. Thought you might need to know that.

Thank You.

Yep. Right On! One more scan, and we can finish this up.

  • You may need to use two posts to get it all.

it just happens at random. Usually its when i first get online. It shows a little red shield with the "x" through it and then it says I may have something harmful on my computer....but then it dissappears....and also sometimes when I'm on a website it'll close the window and a box will pop up and say "your computer may be infected" and then it'll pop up a page that looks like its scanning for viruses...

Hello.

  • Download combofix from here
    Link 1
    Link 2

    1. If you are using Firefox, make sure that your download settings are as follows:

    * Tools->Options->Main tab
    * Set to "Always ask me where to Save the files".

    2. During the download, rename Combofix to Combo-Fix as follows:

My computer is infected by malware! Bankerfox.A can anyone help?! CF_download_FF

My computer is infected by malware! Bankerfox.A can anyone help?! CF_download_rename

    3. It is important you rename Combofix during the download, but not after.
    4. Please do not rename Combofix to other names, but only to the one indicated.
    5. Close any open browsers.
    6. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

  • We need to disable your local AV (Anti-virus) before running Combofix.
  • See HERE for how to disable your AV.
  • Double click on ComboFix.exe.
  • Follow the prompts. NOTE:
  • ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed.
***It's strongly recommended to have the Recovery Console installed before doing any malware removal.***

**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will automatically proceed with its scan.

  • The Recovery Console provides a recovery/repair mode should a problem occur during a Combofix run.

  • Allow ComboFix to download the Recovery Console.
  • Accept the End-User License Agreement.
  • The Recovery Console will be installed.
  • You will then get this next prompt that asks if you want to continue the malware scan, select yes

  • Allow combofix to run
  • Post C:\combofix.txt back here.

    Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.
