I recently had the internet security 2010 virus and since i ran the nortons 360 scan i cant log into windows. It starts to load then logs right back out to the login screen. I booted from xp cd to Repair but it tells me no hard drives are installed. Is my hard drive lost forever or, since i still get a login screen, could it be that the xp cd is not the original.

thanks in advance for any help.

Hello,

You bot to boot into your BIOS by repeatedly tapping Del at boot up. Once inside, find an option to disable SATA performance.

Hello,

What is the brand of your PC? We can try the recovery partition.

hi thanks
its a Fujitsu Lifebook C Series. i went into the BIOS and restored the default settings so i have a log in screen again (maybe i should not have done that) either way its still logging me off right away. probably the repair cd that came with the computer will get me back in but i was hoping to save my data as well.

Hello,

If you are unable to boot into normal and safe mode, you need to format the drive, you will loose all data. Try tapping F12 continually at boot up to access the recovery partition.
