Malware, Virius, Trojan who knows, please help

Hello Geek Police, please help. My grandmother's computer will ping any site , skype and yahoo messenger will work but not web browsing, IE8 or firefox, uninstalled both and reinstalled, also used portable apps from a usb key and still nothing.

She had not been using a virius scanner but i now know that putting Trend on her computer was too late. I have tried resetting winsock stack and just about everything else to try and get it working but after searching the net , it seems it is almost sure malware of some kind.

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

Is it looking bad? I have not ruled out a reinstall just would like to not have to do that since there is some software of my grandmothers that i do not have and she is in Cali and I am in texas so helping here along is difficult at best.

Nothing wrong with the system. Everything checks out fine.

I have to be missing something then, its like port 80 is blocked but and https traffic along with it.

The fact that i can ping websites, and skype working proves connectivity but no web browsers will work.

I guess i am gonna have to reinstall and try and locate all the software.
