dial up cant connect to the internet

Hey i have a friend that has a pc running windows xp and is using net zero for internet but for some reason he cant connect anymore =/ as far i know i checked in the control panel under network connections and it says disconnected and fire walled right next to it. any ideas?

Open CMD, Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults by typing: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults by typing: netsh int ip reset reset.log

Restart your PC.

If it doesn't work, download Winsock XP Fix from here, save it to your Desktop.

Double click on the exe on your Desktop.
Press the "Fix" button, then restart again.

See if you can connect now.

okay i tried all your methods but still no luck i think i forgot to mention i tried using a trail of aol internet and i got a code error and i dont seem to be receiving any connection at all
