Hi there,

I'm sorry if this seems stupid (and it will) but I really have no idea about computers...

I have a laptop that I haven't used for about a year, from memory it has Windows 2004 ?, one day I started it and this 'Privacy Tools Pack' virus came onto the screen, then I could still see the windows desktop in the background. In hindsight I stupidly pushed ctrl alt del and somehow (can't remember exactly now) I managed to temporarily disable it, then I could use the laptop normally. I did this about 3 times, then suddenly I logged on one day and I couldn't see the windows desktop anymore, then I tried my old trick and the 'task manager' tab had gone grey and I couldn't click it. I also can't download anti-virus programs because I can't get onto the internet.

I'm sorry I can't be clearer but any help would be appreciated,

H500
