Background: I've posted a topic about myself receiving some form of spyware on the laptop, and since that incident, I've been unable to connect online wirelessly. From the other thread, a majority of the steps I had been told to follow I managed through flash drive.

Note I am not savvy in electronics/internet and the like. I asked my sister if we could have the laptop connect through the landline so that I'd be able to download a piece that comes with Combofix. She said that we couldn't because we were missing a wire? Our ISP is At&T DSL, we have the router and a Netgear wireless router.

Hello,

Hello,

Open CMD, Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults by typing: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults by typing: netsh int ip reset reset.log

Restart your PC.

If it doesn't work, download Winsock XP Fix from here, save it to your Desktop.
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html

Double click on the exe on your Desktop.
Press the "Fix" button, then restart again.

See if you can connect now.

You can also download Combofix from a working computer and transfer it over through a flash drive.
