  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Note:

thanks, but ive tried that several times -- it wont let me DL the software. Or actually, it looks like it did DL, but it won't let me run it ...not really sure

During installation, i get a couple of these messages: "Application cannot be executed. the file lulnchr.exe is infected. Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?" ...which I've come to realize is it's annoying way of screwing me over every time I try to start any application (and may not even have anything to do with this setup.... so I say no and continue ...

at the end I get this 'setup' message: "Unable to execute file: C\program files\malware bytes' anti-malware\mbam.exe Createprocess failed; code 2. the system cannot find the file specified."

i hit ok then that's it.

under the start menu i can see the program, but when i try to run it, it searches then tells me "the item 'mbam.exe' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly. Do you want to delete this shortcut?"

so, not really sure where that leaves me .....any help is much appreciated,
thanks

Lets try this.

  • Please download DDS by sUBs to your Desktop (Important!!) from one of these locations:
    Link 1
    Link 2
  • Double click DDS.scr to run.
  • When complete, two logs will open. Save both of the report to your Desktop.
  • Copy and paste BOTH LOGS back here, use more than one post if needed.
