Hey, I'm in desperate need of assitence from those with superior knowledge than me.

Problem is as follows:

My d-link dwl g520m reƖ network card seems to have stopped working from after I moved house.

The card works with windows zero config thing, albeight a fraction of it's ability, and terribly slow and reƖ. When I manually disable zero config, I get the following:

A) The system tray icon will simply black cross on it and when double-clicked tell me "driver not load" then promptly close itself
or
b) not load at all and promptly close itself when I try to run it.

Currently using an asus reƖ USB dongle, which works well, but it's not powerful enough for much else other than web surfing.

Any help is greatly appreciated; I've got all sorts of bald patches from pulling my hair out.

Hello,

Please try to uninstall the D-Link client and the drivers and reinstall them. See if it works.

I've tried manually uninstalling the drivers and utilities, and reinstalling from scratch, but to no avail.

Would physically removing the card from my tower before reinstalling the drives make any difference?

Hello,

Yes, it does make a difference. Uninstall all the drivers and client, shut down and remove the card, reboot, then shutdown again.

Use Revo Uninstaller to uninstall the software that is in add/remove programs to insure it's all gone.

Once the procedure is complete, install the card like it's a new installation. I'd also try a different PCI slot for the card, that will occasionally change the results.

I'll give that a shot and get back to you with the results.
