Ok so system security keeps popping up saying i have a virus. It will not let me open any of my anti virus programs. I have malawarebytes' anti malware, but it wont open. If i type in any search for how to remove the virus, it directs me to random search engine pages. nothing is working! i am currently running in safe mode.

Please download the current version of HijackThis from HERE

  • Double click and run the installer.
  • It will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\hijackthis.exe
  • After installing, you should get the user agreement, press accept and Hijack This will run.
  • Select Do a system scan and save a log file. This will open a notepad file of everything Hijack This found, copy and paste it back here.

Hello.
This malware has the ability to pacth files, and it likes to invite it's friends in too, and sometimes it's friends can be horrible.

It comes with stubborn rootkits which can cause a machine to become unstable and either wont work or only just works. Sometimes in the case where it doesn't work, a format is needed.

Do you have your XP disc?

Lets try a repair install first.

Put the XP disc in and reboot your machine so it boots from the disc.
A blue screen will come up, and has a few options. One will say:

"Press 'r' for repair"

There is a general guide on doing repair install here:
