samsung writemaster sh-s182m not recognized

okay... as i stated, i have a "samsung writemaster sh-s182m" dvd writer that is not being recognized. it has power (it opens and closes just fine), but it is not listed in 'my computer'. in device manager, it's listed with the yellow exclamation point and when i click on properties it reads, "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)". i've tried uninstalling with no luck. not really sure where to go from here. any help appreciated... thanks in advance!
