spybot s+d and firefox browser

Hello folks,
I can no longer run spybot on my start up screen everytime i click onto it it will not run.I uninstalled it and re-installed another version but to no avail.....also on firefox when i try to go to whatever item i want to browse through im constantly being redirected to stupid things i never asked for??? i have the latest add ons like ad blocker plus etc from firefox and so cannot understand why this is so

sounds like it could be infected with something.

symptoms: anti virus stops working and loads of page re-directions to ads and rubbish.

sounds like a virus to me

or maybe the infection came AFTER spybot stopped working.
