Getting Blue screen of death

I am trying to repair my cousins PC and every so often the PC GETS a blue screen one blue screen said

BAD_POOL_CALLER (this was on the top top of the screen)

and on the bottom of the screen


Tech info:

0x000000C2 (then more codes in parenthesis)


I have also gotten the PC to get a blue screen that says Check your bios and does not list BAD POOL CALLER but does list new numbers on the bottom............is this just a generic blue screen?


I am currently running MEMTEST-86

any ideas?

Almost all 0x8E errors are caused by faulty ram, I would recommend you perform memory tests:

I ran tests, no errors...........

the pc wants pc4200 but there are 2 pc5300 stick in their. Does that matter?

Also if i take 1 chip out the cpu works fine, doesnt matter which chip or slot..........

Yes, it matters. Using different RAM speed smight cause compatibility issues for most motherboards, which is why you get the BSOD.
