Usually on top of their game, Asus is typically quick to adopt new technology, and the same will ring true with the latest USB standards. Several shots of their USB 3.0-packing P6X58 Premium system board have hit the Web. The P6X58 reportedly makes use of the NEC µPD720200 controller we covered in May. The chip only consumes up to 1W of power and can transfer 25GB of video content on a Blu-ray disc in just over a minute. This compares to the 14 minutes required by USB 2.0 at 480Mb/s.
