my friends pc has been running slow, as he doesn't know the first thing about pc's i said i'd see what was causing the problems but i wouldn't remove anything without geekpolice advise, although his other friend had set 4 different homepages to load from browser which i couldn't see why so i set him up to standard msn homepage.

he's running -Windows XP version 2002- service pack 3.

i have installed the malwarebytes for him and run a quick scan, i haven't deleted them though i have left them quarentined and copied the log.

i haven't installed the highjackthis/mbam log as i was at his home and couldn't remember where to download from, if its any use i could send the log from malwarebytes.

would i need to be at his place for you to look at this ? if so i can set him up on your site on thursday then go from there.

okay thanks, yeah i'll set him an account on thursday as i'm not sure what java package he has running either, i doubt he's updated it.
