Hi there. I've been having problems getting rid of SS all weekend. I already have malwarebytes anti-malware and its updated but when it was in the middle of scanning my laptop suddenly restarted on its own and now I can't even start malwarebytes or any of my other virus/malware scanners like avg. When I tried to open google chrome or firefox I got a little pop up window that says "Application cannot be executed. The file avgrsx.exe is infected" and then it asks me to activate Security system. I disabled my wireless connection but i'm still getting popups and these clicking popping sounds. Also my screensaver changed to this warning about how my laptop is infected. In the meantime I'm using my sister's laptop since it wont let me even open a browser.

1. If you are using Firefox, make sure that your download settings are as follows:

* Tools->Options->Main tab
* Set to "Always ask me where to Save the files".

2. During the download, rename Combofix to Combo-Fix as follows:





3. It is important you rename Combofix during the download, but not after.
4. Please do not rename Combofix to other names, but only to the one indicated.
5. Close any open browsers.
6. We need to disable your local AV (Anti-virus) before running Combofix.

• See HERE for how to disable your AV.
  
• Double click on ComboFix.exe.
  
• Follow the prompts. NOTE:
  
• Allow combofix to run
  
• Post C:\combofix.txt back here.

Hello, there are still some leftovers that could trigger the infection to comeback, please post the ComboFix log. If you forgot where you saved it it should be somewhere in your C:\ drive.
