BankerFox.a win32/nuqel.e Removal help.

I have a windows xp, and I can not seem to get rid of the popups saying I have those two viruses bankerfox.a and win32/nuqel.e attacking my computer. I know this is fake, but the popups will not stop coming onto my computer and are affecting my internet use since it says "This webpage might harm your computer." I also have Mcafee protection but it is not detecting this. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Please download the current version of HijackThis from HERE

• Double click and run the installer.
  
• It will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\hijackthis.exe
  
• After installing, you should get the user agreement, press accept and Hijack This will run.
  
• Select Do a system scan and save a log file. This will open a notepad file of everything Hijack This found, copy and paste it back here.

I see you have Viewpoint software installed.

Viewpoint Manager is considered as foistware instead of malware since it is installed without users approval but doesn't spy or do anything "bad". Read this article: here and here

I suggest you remove the program now.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following programs if present.

• Viewpoint Manager (remove only)
  
• Viewpoint Media Player
  
• Viewpoint Toolbar
  

Next, please download ViewpointKiller by Prm753 from here.
Save it to a permanent folder (such as C:\ViewpointKiller) and unzip it there.
Open ViewpointKiller, and press the Start button.
A log will be produced in the same folder where you unzipped it to. Please post the contents of that log in your reply.

• Open HijackThis.
  
• Choose "Do a system scan only"
  
• Check the boxes in front of these lines:

Please download and run this tool.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  
• Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
  
• The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  

Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

I installed the Anti-Malware program, and when it scanned it came up with several results of viruses, or things that needed attention. I checked them all and clicked Remove Selected, but my computer had restarted and said that the system had recovered from a serious error in the process of deleting the viruses found.

Did you get a log from MBAM? please post a new Hijack This log anyway, a few things that also need to be removed.

I was unable to get a log from MBAM because once I tried to delete, the viruses and clicked remove, my computer shut off. I am not sure why it did this, in the process of removing the files.

Run the MBAM scan again, see what happens this time around.

I ran the MBAM scan once again, and it came up with several results. When I attempted to delete them for the third time, once again my computer resulted in freezing and having to restart itself. I am not sure why it is doing this.

Note:
If you're having problems with running GMER.exe, try it in safe mode. This tools works in safe mode.
You can also try renaming it since some malware blocks GMER.

I downloaded the file, and opened it. When it opened it came up with a blank screen and a little sidebar. My mouse completely froze in an hourglass, and I was unabled to take any action. I attempted this three times, even renaming the file, but still my mouse froze.

  5. Close any open browsers.
  6. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
