Hello! I downloaded and ran the malwarebytes software this morning in order to get rid of the AntiVirus PRO virus. It appears that it is now gone but now when I click Internet Explorer to go to the internet, it says web site not found - it says this for ANY web site I try to go to. I have a wireless connection just as I always did but just can't get to the web. Is there a chance the virus scan change something?

Please download the current version of HijackThis from HERE

  • Double click and run the installer.
  • It will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\hijackthis.exe
  • After installing, you should get the user agreement, press accept and Hijack This will run.
  • Select Do a system scan and save a log file. This will open a notepad file of everything Hijack This found, copy and paste it back here.

I worked it out after investigating it more. Had to change the proxy settings and all's good now. thanks and sorry if i wasted your time!
