missing or corrupt file

when i boot up i get \windows\system32\config\system missing or corrupt ,can i fix this without losing anything i.e.all my songs on my itunes. this is aproblem because you can only sync your phone to one account and if i have to reinstall windows will it wipe out my acount cheers

You can attempt to repair this file by starting windows setup using the original setup CD-Rom. Select "r" at the first screen to start repair.

Dont do that until Doc approves it.
