K so basicly i have this wnpc thing which is extremely frustrating! I swear it is blocking me from installing malwarebytes and other anti malware software. I would be gratefull of any help! I have tryed it all in safe mode and everything and its still not doing anything.

Hello.

I strongly recommend you to remove Ask from your computer because it's:

• Promoting its toolbars on sites targeted to kids.
  
• Promoting its toolbars through ads that appear to be part of other companies' sites.
  
• Promoting its toolbars through other companies' spyware.
  
• Installing without any disclosure whatsoever and without any consent whatsoever.
  
• Soliciting installations via "deceptive door openers" that do not accurately describe the offer; failing to affirmatively show a license agreement; linking to a EULA via an off-screen link.
  
• Making confusing changes to users' browsers -- increasing Ask's revenues while taking users to pages they didn't intend to visit.

If you choose to follow my recommendation then please go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following programs if present.

Then please find and delete this folder in bold (if present):
C:\Program Files\AskBarDis

I notice that you have Spybot's TeaTimer running. While this is normally a wonderful tool to protect against hijackers, it can also interfere with HijackThis fixes. So please disable TeaTimer by doing the following:
1) Run Spybot-S&D
2) Go to the Mode menu, and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected
3) On the left hand side, choose Tools -> Resident
4) Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts
You can reenable TeaTimer once your system is clean.

Please make sure Teatimer is disable before we do this, otherwise this fix will fail.

• Choose "Do a system scan only"

• Close Hijack This.
  

Please download and run this tool.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  
• Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
  
• The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  

Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Post the contents of the MBAM Log.

Ive tryed to remove the ask bar but it wont unistall as it says.. "All internet explorer windows should be closed to perform uninstallation". I close all the internet windows and disconnect from the interent and it still says the same message. Ive been trying to get rid of it for months.

Also although Spybot is running it wont actualy open. As the same with malwarebytes. I have installed them both but they fail to open when i try to run them. Well malwarebytes dusnt even complete installation. It just freezes at the installation completion.

Shell i just do a system reset or something? My pc was running fine yesterday. and now it is running very poorly.

System reset as in system restore? I don't know if that would help, restore points could be infection.

1. Please download The Avenger by Swandog46 to your Desktop

• Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.
  
  The Avenger will automatically do the following:
  
  
• It will Restart your computer.
  
• On reboot, it will briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.
  
• After the restart, it creates a log file that should open with the results of Avenger’s actions. This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
  
• The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.
  

3. Please copy/paste the content of c:\avenger.txt into your reply.

well i uninstalled S&D and hten did the process in highjack this that you said and it seems to of worked! its gone. so thanks alot but anyway i ran avenger and got this..

• Open HijackThis.
  
• When Hijack This opens, click "Open the Misc Tools section"
  
• Then select "Open Uninstall Manager"
  
• Click on "Save List..." (generates uninstall_list.txt)

Save this as CFScript.txt, save it to your desktop also.
Then drag and drop CFScript.txt into combofix as seen below:


This will open combofix.exe again, agree to it's terms and allow it to run, it may want to reboot after it's done. Post the resulting log back here.

ok cool got rid of all that. Glad the ask thing has gone. I wouldnt mind getting rid of the anoying adobe updater also.

I recommend you remove the Java Quick Starter because it's not needed.
To do so, follow these instructions.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Java.
In the Java control panel, open the click the Advanced tab. Click the + in front of Miscellaneous and uncheck the Java Quick Starter box.

Download and install VLC Player 0.9.9
When installing, it will ask if you want to uninstall the old version first before it can install the new version, so please select yes and allow it to install.
