Anti-Virus Protection?

I have a laptop and on it I have the Microsoft Live Onecare 90 day trial. Is this a good anti-virus program or is there something better that is should try?

The trial will eventually run out, then you won't have protection anymore.
I suggest Avira.

Are you planning on responding to the topic you opened in malware removal?

Yes I am. I am at school currently and have to work so it will be later today before I can begin working on that problem. Also, should I buy and advanced version of Avira or is the basic version good enough?

In the state your machine is in right now, the basic will work fine for our needs.

Ok, thats good enough for me. This might sound like a dumb question but what brought you to helping other people with fighting viruses/malware?

I was infected at one point and it really annoyed me.
So, I decided to learn how to fight malware and fight back.

Thats cool. I wish I could understand how computer programing worked so I could better understand how all this stuff worked. I have a little knowledge of computers but not much. I am working on my desktop, its taking a long time for the system scan to complete. Ill reply on that when it gets done.
