Administrative Tools Issue

Hi Belhazur

I dont know if this is the correct place to post this problem, but I am still going Ahead. I cannot execute any of the
following under the "administrative tools" in control panel.

1) Computer Management
2) Event Viewer
3) Performance
4) Services
5) Component Service

I get the error message "Access Denied". I am logged on as the administrator. My computer does not have any
malware. Please Help!!!

Log looks fine.
You might think you have administrator powers, but usually in XP, there's another administrator account that you can't see from the welcome screen, so that has to be accessed manually.

You can log off back to the welcome screen, then do alt/ctrl/del to access an advanced logon box, or do it via safe mode.

I did as you told me but without success

Actually I do not have a password set for the Administrator account. Since I am the only one using this PC
hence I have never created the password for windows. I only have the motherboard password which is required
before booting

Any Ideas now??

It sounds like it could be a group policy.
Is this XP home or XP Pro?

Might not be a group policy, XP home doesn't come with gpedit.msc
