virus/spyware/trojan or malware System Security

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  
• Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
  
• The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  

Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Post the contents of the MBAM Log.

• Please download DDS by sUBs to your Desktop (Important!!) from one of these locations:

• Double click DDS.scr to run
  
• When complete, DDS.txt will open.
  
• Save the report to your Desktop.
  
• Copy and paste DDS.txt back here, I don't need to see attach.txt.
  

Strange, did what you asked and had two screens pop up, one was really long and the other was just notepad with what looked like the same info but not as much of it. The notepad asked me to zip the file and post the zipped file. But I don't know how to do that, nor do I have that ability that I'm aware of. I can only unzip a file.

The file that asks you to zip it is attach.txt. There should be another called DDS.txt.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following programs if present.

• NoAdware
  

Then please find and delete this folder in bold (if present):
C:\Program Files\NoAdware

How is the machine running now?

ok I looked under control panel and it was not there, but then I ran a search for this file and so far there are two listed.
NoAdware C:/Program Files
noadware4_030309.na C:/Program Files/NoAdware

If i put my curser over them they almost look like its Norton Utilities.

Also my system is outrageously slow- which I'm thinking may have to do with the new version of Norton 360 I put on. Possibly its the settings.

Possibly; Norton is a big product, antivirus/antispyware/firewall all in one. You'd be better off with Some like Avira/MBAM and two other generally small programs.
We'll have a tool get rid of that NoAdware along with a leftover.

Please download the OTMoveIt3 by OldTimer.

• Save it to your desktop.
  
• Please double-click OTMoveIt3.exe to run it.
  
• Copy the bolded text below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy):

Lets switch from Norton to a small package.

Completely Uninstall Norton software using:

• SymNRT.exe
  

Instructions

1. Please download and save SymNRT.exe to your desktop.
   
2. Close all programs and double click on the tool.
   
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
   
4. Restart the computer if asked.
   
5. Then delete the SymNRT.exe tool from your desktop.
   
6. Open the Program Files folder on your local disk ( normally C: )
   
7. Find and delete the following folders (if present):
   
8. Norton AntiVirus
   
9. Norton Internet Security
   
10. Norton SystemWorks
    
11. Norton Personal Firewall
    

Then once Norton is gone, install Avira.

Please install Avira antivirus otherwise you won't be protected.

It is strongly recommended that you run only one antivirus program at a time. Having more than one antivirus program active in memory uses additional resources and can result in program conflicts and false virus alerts.

my husband has told me that I cannot as he just paid 64.00 for this stupid Norton and its on 3 of our systems. He said after the year is up then I can go with a different one. So at this point I'm going to try and re-configure it so its not slowing me down so much. I've never heard of Antivir. Is is newer? Is the System Security off my computer for good now? I have not gotten any of the annoying pop ups lately. Does GeekPolice have thier own spyware and Malware? One they sell that I can buy once this other is done?

Avira isn't made by us, Avira "The red umbrella people" own and made it.

Avira is a much smaller package than Norton is, I use it on my home machine.
GeekPolice doesn't have any antispyware software if that's what your asking.

We need to make a new restore point.

To turn off System Restore, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2. Click the System Restore tab.
3. Click the Turn off System Restore check box (or the Turn off System Restore on all drives check box), and then click OK.
4. Click Yes when you receive the prompt to the turn off System Restore.

Now we need to make a new restore point.

2. Click the System Restore tab.
3. Click the Turn off System Restore check box (To turn on System Restore), and then click OK.

Below I have included a number of recommendations for how to protect your computer in order to prevent future malware infections. Please take these recommendations seriously; these few simple steps can stave off the vast majority of spyware problems. As happy as we are to help you, for your sake we would rather not have repeat customers.

1) Please navigate to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and download all the "critical updates" for Windows. This can patch many of the security holes through which attackers can gain access to your computer.

Please either enable Automatic Updates under Start -> Control Panel -> Automatic Updates , or get into the habit of checking for Windows updates regularly. I cannot stress enough how important this is.

2) In order to protect yourself against spyware, you should consider installing and running the following free programs:
