2nd BSOD stop error!

Hi, I just got my second blue screen of death stop error. The first time it just restarted so I couldn't read it, so I turned off the automatic restart.
When the BSOD appeared i was just booting my computer up.
It said:

Stop: 0X0000008E (0XC0000005,0X805A3A0E,0XA85EB9F8,0X00000000)

BTW I just installed a new 2gb stick of ram, could that be the problem?
oh yeah, and the first time it happened was when i tried to scan my computer with AD-Adware, after i scanned it with malwarebytes and NOD32 a few times.

Are there any file names below the STOP error? Maybe something like filename.sys

Nope, there wasn't. all it had where those numbers......

Ok, do you have the latest version of the Windows updates? Older versions of service packs might cause this problem.

i have xp home edition and sp3.

Create a new folder on the desktop and name it what ever you want. Navigate to C:\windows\minidump and copy the last few minidump files to the folder you just created.

Close the folder and right click on it and select Send to Compressed (zipped) Folder.

Upload that zip file to mediafire.com

It might help me identify a Microsoft driver causing this error, if it's even the cause of it.

Since almost all these can be caused by faulty ram, I would recommend you perform memory tests:

I checked in that folder but there wasn't anything.
After that I did the memtest for about an hour and no problems.
Today i put my computer on standby and when i tried to open it again there was a really loud beep. it was one long beep, and two short beeps. it did that continuously until i took the battery. I could still turn it on afterwords.
i searched pc beep codes and it said either it's
1. System Board
2. LCD Assembly
3. DIMM

how am i supposed to know which it is? and what should i do?

Oh and my computer is a lenovo ideapad s10, sp3, xp home, 2gb ram

About the minidumps -- make sure this is configured correctly:

Start >> type in run >> type in sysdm.cpl >> select Advanced >> Startup and Recovery.

Under Write Debugging Information SMALL minidump (64kb) should be selected and the directory should be %SystemRoot%\Minidump

Make sure you are not using any regular "cleanup" programs such as CClecaner which will delete these folders.

The most likely of the beep references would still be ram. If the LCD screen works, then that's not it. Try testing with just one ram module at a time if you can.

Your motherboard is a little strange, so to speak. Could be caused overheating or voltage issues I believe.

I hope this is under warranty, you should be contacting them about it without delay.

Oh yeah i use CCleaner regularly, so that's why it's not there.
But I haven't had the bsod ever since and i can't reproduce it.

I can only test the ram soldered into the motherboard by itself.

why is my motherboard strange? i don't know..... :o

I don't get you here... What do you mean?

Well... my computer has 512mb ram soldered onto the motherboard. and I have another 2gb stick that i added in the second slot. so i can't test the 2gb stick by itself.
BTW my computer can only recognize 2gb ram

I wouldn't worry much about a one-time BSOD.

If you get more after following the instructions above, post the minidump if you can find it.

Have you tried reseating the ram that you have installed?

yep i reseated the ram and i haven't gotten one since.
so yeah if it happens again i'll post the minidump file.
