I have several viruses on my computer that came up yesterday. When I start up my computer I now have a new desktop background that is all black and says critical warning, you have viruses on your computer like trojan horse and others. I can't read the rest of the description because spybot-search and destroy also starts when I computer starts and an error message pops up in front of it that says "invalid floating point operation." These boxes stay in the middle of my screen and I can't rid of them all. Windows defender also asks me if i want to remove the trojan virus because it is critical but when I click remove all nothing happens. Also, "my documents" automatically opens up when I click any file on computer, as does an internet web page about removing virsuses. Also, on most web pages I visit like CNN, the top of the page is in red, and most of the page is in red, and it says my computer is infected and in need of full scanning.

Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

Thanks!
Jess

  • After the restart, it creates a log file that should open with the results of Avenger’s actions. This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
  • The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.
4. Please copy/paste the content of c:\avenger.txt into your reply.

Hello.
There is two things you need to do in this step before we can remove anything now.

First, lets fix your LSP.

Please download the LSPfix from here: LSPFix
Unzip it to the Desktop (Important!!) and run it. Check the box that says "I know what I'm doing", and then select each instance of "ntdll64.exe" in the left-hand panel and click >> button to move it to the right-hand panel. Then click Finish to allow LSPfix to rebuild the LSP chain.

Then we need to stop the Firefox infection.

Please download GooredFix and save it to your Desktop. Please double-click GooredFix.exe on your Desktop to run it. Select 2. Fix Goored by typing 2 and pressing Enter. Make sure all instances of Firefox are closed at this point. Type y at the prompt and press Enter again. A log will open, please post the contents of that log in your next reply (it can also be found on your desktop, called GooredLog.txt).

Hi,

When I clicked finish after completing the steps for the LSPFIX part a box opened up saying there was a problem and the program had to close. When I opened it back up again the ntdll64.exe" part was no longer listed.

Okay, now that's gone, we can start to remove the malware again.
But first, we need to replace userinit.exe

Download this file, a fresh copy of userinit.exe, and download it to your DESKTOP <== important.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/v277vp

Locate this file in bold
C:\Windows\system32\userinit.exe
Right click userinit.exe > "Rename"
Add a .bad extension, so it's now called userinit.exe.bad
Now go back to your Desktop, right click the NEW userinit.exe you downloaded > "Copy" (DO NOT "Cut")
Copy the new userinit.exe to the system32 folder.

Now lets remove these leftovers.

2. Copy all the text contained in the code box below to your Clipboard by highlighting it and pressing (Ctrl+C):

Drivers to disable:
bjpxxxmm
euvduv
znnpynoz

Drivers to delete:
bjpxxxmm
euvduv
znnpynoz

Files to delete:
c:\windows\system32\dllcache\userinit.exe
c:\windows\system32\drivers\dksfkeiq.sys
c:\windows\system32\drivers\bcxifbub.sys
c:\windows\system32\drivers\ychgwokx.sys
c:\windows\system32\ntdll64.exe
c:\windows\system32\chert5-998.exe
c:\windows\system32\warning.gif
c:\windows\system32\ahtn.htm
c:\windows\system32\win32hlp.cnf
c:\windows\system32\uniq.tll
c:\windows\system32\test.ttt
c:\windows\system32\998.exe
c:\windows\system32\yzfacq.dll
c:\windows\system32\ikmgupxj.dll
c:\windows\system32\iechshqx.ini
c:\windows\system32\NWvCIkkj.ini
c:\windows\system32\NWvCIkkj.ini2
C:\windows\system32\qoMfddeE.dll

Note: the above code was created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system.

3. Now, start The Avenger program by clicking on its icon on your desktop.

  • Under "Input script here:", paste in the script from the quote box above.
  • Leave the ticked box "Scan for rootkit" ticked.
  • Then tick "Disable any rootkits found"
  • Now click on the Execute to begin execution of the script.
  • Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.

The Avenger will automatically do the following:

  • It will Restart your computer TWICE.
  • On reboot, it will briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.

Please run DDS again and post the new DDS report along with the new avenger report.

Do I do a search of my computer for that file in bold. I can't find it anywhere. I found "usernit" in the folder "C:\Windows\system32' but I can't find usernit.exe.

Ah, the malware is hiding file extensions.
Okay, just rename it to userinitbad, then carry on with my post.

Okay, just the registry to tidy up now.

I notice that you have Spybot's TeaTimer running. While this is normally a wonderful tool to protect against hijackers, it can also interfere with our fixes. So please disable TeaTimer by doing the following:
1) Run Spybot-S&D
2) Go to the Mode menu, and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected
3) On the left hand side, choose Tools -> Resident
4) Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts
You can reenable TeaTimer once your system is clean.

  • Now open a new notepad file.
  • Input this into the notepad file:

    regedit /e peek1.txt "HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies"
    regedit /e peek2.txt "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies"
    regedit /e peek3.txt "HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies"
    type peek1.txt >> look.txt
    type peek2.txt >> look.txt
    type peek3.txt >> look.txt
    del peek*.txt
    start notepad look.txt

  • Save this as look.bat, save it to your desktop.
  • Double click look.bat to run it.
  • Copy and paste the report back here.

Yep. Smile...

Your version of Java is outdated and needs to be updated to take advantage of fixes that have eliminated security vulnerabilities.
Updating Java:

  • Download the latest version of Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 11.
  • Select the first option where it says "Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 11".
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • In the Window that opens, select your platform and language, check the "agree" box, and click Continue.
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation and save to your desktop.
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
  • Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add or Remove Programs and remove all older versions of Java.
  • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
    - Examples of older versions in Add or Remove Programs:
    - Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2
    - J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0
    - J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 2
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
  • Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u11-windows-i586-p.exe that you downloaded to install the newest version.
