I was trying the Norton 2009 Antivirus for the 15 day trial. It was running great and I had seen many times where it had blocked Trojan attempts and other Malware items. So I decided to buy it. When I went to install it it said I needed to remove the trialware first then restart the computer so I did so. When the computer booted back up Norton Antivirus was gone. So I went to click into the new Norton Antivirus that I had just purchased to install it and the installation was taking forever. Then it popped up with an installation error has occured. Then I tried to download it off the internet but when I click on the Internet Explorer icon it takes about 3 minutes before anything pops up. When I click on any file it takes about 3 minutes for them to open. Once in the file I can run fine within the file as if there is no lag on the computer but getting into the file is a nightmare. I have ran Malwarebyes and only found 1 thing. Here is my Malwarebyres log file:

I have downloaded the DDS file from the Link 1 and tried to run it. It sends me to a dos prompt then after waiting for about 5 minutes it says:
"As per any instructions you would have recieved, kindly ensure any onboard script blocking tools have been disabled for they shall interfere with DDS.
DDS is a non-invasive diagnostic tool.
-DDS makes no registery writes/changes
-DDS does not create and permanent files/folders.
This scan should not take longer then three minutes to complete.
When this scan completes a logfile/report shall pop open.
Post the contents of the logfile to the forum where it was requested
We only require it to run just once. Dipose after use."

It has been about 30minutes since that message popped up and nothing has happened so far. Any suggestions how to get it to run cause right now it is stuck in a dos prompt with that message in it.

Okay.
Try from a different link.

Each link has a different kind of file type, so it should work if one doesn't.

Can you try renaming it from DDS.com to fixthis.com and try running it.
If not, try this.

  • Download random's system information tool (RSIT) by random/random from here and save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on RSIT.exe to run RSIT.
  • Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
  • Once it has finished, two logs will open. Please post the contents of both log.txt (<< will be maximized) and info.txt (<< will be minimized)

1. Please download The Avenger by Swandog46 to your Desktop
Link: HERE or HERE.

  • Click on Avenger.zip to open the file
  • Extract avenger.exe to your desktop
2. Copy all the text contained in the code box below to your Clipboard by highlighting it and pressing (Ctrl+C):

Files to delete:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\mezutilo.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\juyadewi.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\exxxzh.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\twex.exe

Note: the above code was created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system.

3. Now, start The Avenger program by clicking on its icon on your desktop.

  • Under "Input script here:", paste in the script from the quote box above.
  • Leave the ticked box "Scan for rootkit" ticked.
  • Then tick "Disable any rootkits found"
  • Now click on the Execute to begin execution of the script.
  • Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.

The Avenger will automatically do the following:

  • It will Restart your computer.
  • On reboot, it will briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.
  • After the restart, it creates a log file that should open with the results of Avenger’s actions. This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
  • The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.
4. Please copy/paste the content of c:\avenger.txt into your reply.

They still don't run but at least now when I click on them it almost immediately opens and then pops up the message right away. It doesn't ask about the optional scan though. Last time when I clicked on it I had to wait like 2 minutes for the command prompt to open then another 2 or 3 minutes for the DDS to pop up at the top of the command prompt then another 2 minutes for the message to pop up.

descriptionComputer Slowing Down EmptyRe: Computer Slowing Down

Okay, so DDS still isn't running.

* Download Dr.Web CureIt to the desktop:
ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/cureit/drweb-cureit.exe

  • Doubleclick the drweb-cureit.exe file and Allow to run the express scan
  • This will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it. This is only a short scan.
  • Once the short scan has finished, Click Options > Change settings
  • Choose the "Scan"-tab, remove the mark at "Heuristic analysis".
  • Back at the main window, mark the drives that you want to scan.
  • Select all drives. A red dot shows which drives have been chosen.
  • Click the green arrow at the right, and the scan will start.
  • Click 'Yes to all' if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
  • When the scan has finished, look if you can click next icon next to the files found: Computer Slowing Down Check
  • If so, click it and then click the next icon right below and select Move incurable as you'll see in next image:
    Computer Slowing Down Move
This will move it to the %userprofile%\DoctorWeb\quarantaine-folder if it can't be cured. (this in case if we need samples)
  • After selecting, in the Dr.Web CureIt menu on top, click file and choose save report list
  • Save the report to your desktop. The report will be called DrWeb.csv
  • Close Dr.Web Cureit.
  • Reboot your computer!! Because it could be possible that files in use will be moved/deleted during reboot.
  • After reboot, post the contents of the log from Dr.Web you saved previously in your next reply.
