Windows 10 Feature Update Information

Microsoft has released the May 2020 Update for Windows 10, which has build number 19041, and version number 2004. This version began testing on December 10, 2019, and has been officially released to the public.

You can download and install it one of two ways:
-Automatic Upgrade by Windows Update (use the Windows Update program in Windows). Go to Start and type in Windows Update and choose the result in the list.
-Use the tools from Microsoft to do an installation or clean installation. You can do this by using the Windows Update Assistant, or using the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool.

If you download and install it successfully, celebrate and comment below!

Are you not seeing the Update?
-If you have checked and it is not there, wait a few more days, as it does take some time for it to become available in all regions.
-If you have recently installed Windows 10 or bought and activated a new version (such as buying a new computer for example), the Feature Update will not be available for at least 31 days.
-You may have the option set up in Windows Update options to "Defer Upgrades." This can be fixed by deselecting the option and trying again for a while to see if it will allow the Feature Update.
-Bottom line: You can solve this by using the Windows 10 Update Assistant or Media Creation Tool.

Windows 10 Feature Update resets many settings and makes life a little more difficult. Once you install Windows 10 Feature Update, you should do the following please:
1. Review your Privacy settings thoroughly.
2. Check Advertising, Suggestions, and Tips settings.
3. Disable unnecessary Windows Services.
4. Disable or Remove Unwanted Modern/Metro Apps (UWP).
5. Free up disk space using Disk Cleanup (Updates require multiple date files to be saved that are unneeded after Update).
